FAQ
Some general information about the beautiful island Aruba.
Aruba is a small Caribbean island located just off the coast of Venezuela. It is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and is known for its white sandy beaches, desert landscapes, and clear blue waters.
Aruba's public transportation consists mainly of buses operated by Arubus, which run regularly between major areas like Oranjestad, hotels, and beaches. Taxis are also available but have fixed rates. Renting a car or using tour shuttles is common for exploring the island.
Aruba has a warm, dry climate with year-round sunshine and little rainfall. Trade winds keep temperatures comfortable, averaging around 28°C (82°F). The island is outside the hurricane belt, making it a reliable destination for good weather.
The majority of the Aruban residents speak four languages: Dutch, English, Spanish and the local language Papiamento.
Aruba's official currency is the Aruban Florin (AWG), but U.S. dollars are widely accepted. Most businesses take credit cards, and ATMs dispense both florins and dollars.
Aruba is considered one of the safest islands in the Caribbean, with low crime rates and a welcoming atmosphere. Petty theft can occur, so it's wise to stay aware of your belongings. The island is also safe for outdoor activities, but visitors should take precautions against strong currents when swimming or diving.
